Francisco Pizarro


Francisco Pizarro González was born in Trujillo, Cáceres in modern-day Extremadura.

 His father was a colonel of infantry who served in Navarra and the Italian Campaings under Córdoba. Francisco was a Spanish conqueror that commanded an expedition that conquered the Inca Empire.

Resultado de imagen de francisco pizarro He captured and killed the Incan Emperor, Atahualpa, and claimed the lands for Spain. In 1513 Francisco accompained Vasco Nuñez de Balboa in his crossing of the Isthmus of Panama to the Pacific Coast.

 The walls of Lima park contains a statue, which used to be in Plaza Perú, located next to the Gobernment Palace. 



He died in of June, 1541 in Lima, with 63 years.
